Pantone Announces 2012 Color of the Year

Orange is in. It’s been turning up everywhere, including 

interiors, fashion, lifestyle—just scan through the pages 

ofInterior Design magazine. For the new year, Pantone is 

officially giving it some time in the limelight. 

The venerable authority on color recently announced its

 2012 Color of the Year: Tangerine Tango #17-1463 TCX.

The choice, albeit a color that is certainly a la mode, is a

 play on the current global economic status. As the 

economy slowly but surely turns around, Tangerine Tango 

is a bold, spirited hue, that, in essence, is meant to offer

 a boost of energy and encouragement to keep forging 

ahead.

It makes a great choice for a pop of  color in an interior space, so use liberally in throw

 pillows, table linens, art, accessories, appliances and even accent walls.
